Our team have the experience and qualifications to be the coal mining operator (CMO) for our projects and provide highly experienced site senior executives (SSE’s) to lead on site.

Board of Directors
Jason is a highly experienced, results oriented mining executive with a proven track record in leading major business transformations. A well regarded leader who values openness, transparency and consistency, provides clear direction and promotes a culture of accountability and performance.
Jason’s strengths include organisational process improvement, driving efficiency and business optimisation, commercial strategy, productivity and health and safety leadership. His vast experience in the mining sector across coal and metals are at the very core of Aura’s offering.
Grant has over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry globally providing mining services to the world's largest mining companies.
Grant has broader experience across all aspects of mining services, junior mining, exploration, and capital finance markets. He is focused on delivering unique operating solutions for clients or investment partners across various commodities with a strong focus on coal.
After retiring from Rugby League in 2011, Darren has spent over 14 years in the mining industry across a range of mining services, mineral exploration, corporate affairs and advocacy roles. He is a shareholder in Mining Pro a specialist mining services firm as well as head of corporate affairs for Mayur Resources.
Darren has been a board member of the ASX listed Brisbane Broncos since 2013 and maintains other private business interests in the property sector. Darren’s experience and leadership at the highest levels of Rugby League are valued by all of our team and client partners in the mining industry as we work together to achieve success.
Executive Leadership
Steve is an experienced operations leader with a proven record of improving performance in complex mining environments. Across senior positions with QCoal, Yancoal, Thiess and Anglo American, he has led major operations through expansion, transformation and periods of significant growth. His achievements include almost tripling production at a major coal operation, delivering a reported 632% improvement in EBITDA and overseeing $850 million in expansion projects completed on time and under budget. As Head of Operations, Steve provides AURA Mining with disciplined execution, strong commercial judgement and an established ability to build safe, capable and accountable teams.
Steve brings extensive technical expertise and operational experience to the evaluation and development of mining projects. His career spans open-cut and underground operations, with senior executive roles at South32, Peabody Energy, Anglo American and Rio Tinto encompassing major feasibility studies, project development, multi-site operations and joint venture governance. Steve has directed the evaluation of complex mining projects and understands how technical decisions influence safety, operability and long-term commercial performance. At AURA Mining, Steve provides the insight and critical judgement required to assess opportunities, manage technical risk and establish robust foundations for project delivery.
